I'm beginning to suspect some things

Email conversation with my friend John last week:
John: "Hey Man, you going to the Sox game with everybody on Saturday?"
Brian: "No."
John: "Why not?"
Brian: "This is the first I’ve heard of it."
John: "Oh, sorry."
Verbal conversation with my co-worker Luis earlier today:
Luis: "Dude, why didn’t you come paint-balling on Saturday?"
Brian: "I didn’t know about it. Who all went?"
Luis: "Everybody."
Brian: "Hmmm. Yeah, I didn’t know about it."
Luis: "Oh, sorry."
And yeah, Brian, we missed you at the family reunion last weekend.
