Ryan Dempster: My favorite Chicago Cub

You may remember from earlier in the season, Brian's post about the wacky Cubs pitcher, Ryan Dempster training to become a ninja. If that was enough to make you an instant Dempster fan, this story, passed along to me by my brother-in-law Daryl, may make you rush out to buy a Cubby blue Dempster jersey!

I still want the Cubs to lose, but I'll root for them whenever Dempster takes the hill. Click the image to see what Dempster wrote on the ball.

Sometimes it's good to have goals. Other times not so much

Headline seen: Cubs closer has goals: save 50 games, learn to use nunchucks.

1st line of the article: Ryan Dempster says he is training to be a ninja.

Quote within the article: "You have to learn how to throw a throwing star and nunchucks and all those kinds of things. Obviously you've got to do martial arts and learn how to be really quiet, which is a tough task for me because I talk a lot."

All of the above is real.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your 2007 Chicago Cubs. Something tells me this won't be making it anywhere near their media guide.
